About this study

​The study of family history can lead to a specific location where a particular family lived for many decades.  This is the case for the Collier family in Westbury-sub-Mendip. The existence of a 19th century will confirmed their role and status in the village.

 

The study  covers the period from the late 16th century, when parish and other records become accessible, to the 19th century, when the Colliers left the village.

This cannot be an exhaustive study, and the author accepts responsibility for any factual errors.
